The official live-streamed Poka Live TV Vol. 1 program for Cygames' Uma Musume Pretty Derby franchise announced on Tuesday that the second season of the main Uma Musume Pretty Derby television anime will air in 2021. The program introduced a teaser promotional video and visual (featuring the characters Tōkai Teiō and Mejiro McQueen) for Uma Musume Pretty Derby Season 2: The first season will rerun in Japan on the Tokyo MX and BS11 channels, starting on October 4. The Poka Live TV program will return with "Vol. 2" in December. The first 13-episode Uma Musume Pretty Derby television anime season premiered on April 1, 2018. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. A "BNW no Chikai" (BNW's Oath) anime came bundled with the Uma Musume Pretty Derby television anime's fourth Blu-ray Disc volume on December 19, 2018. Kei Oikawa (This Art Club Has a Problem!, Outbreak Company, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO!) directed the first anime season at P.A. Works. Yousuke Kabashima (D.Gray-man Hallow, Lord Marksman and Vanadis) designed the characters and served as chief animation director. Masafumi Sugiura (aka Pierre Sugiura, Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru scripts) and Cygames' Akihiro Ishihara both wrote and oversaw the series scripts. UTAMARO movement composed the music at Lantis. The Uma Musume Pretty Derby franchise's spinoff manga series Umayon also inspired its own television anime that premiered in July and ended on Tuesday. Cygames' Uma Musume Pretty Derby game is currently in development, with a delayed release on iOS and Android now planned for this year. Cygames is also publishing several other spinoff manga for the franchise on Cycomi, including Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Haru Urara Ganbaru! and Starting Gate: Uma Musume Pretty Derby. GKIDS began streaming English-dubbed and -subtitled versions of a teaser video on Tuesday for Lupin III THE FIRST, the first 3D CG feature-length anime film in Monkey Punch's Lupin III franchise. The film's English dub cast includes: Tony Oliver as Lupin III Richard Epcar as Daisuke Jigen Lex Lang as Goemon Ishikawa Michelle Ruff as Fujiko Mine Doug Erholtz as Koichi Zenigata Laurie Hymes as Laetitia J. David Brimmer as Lambert Paul Guyet as Gerard GKIDS announced in March that it would release the film theatrically in North America in 2020 with English subtitles and an English dub. GKIDS' website currently lists the film as "coming soon to theaters." The film competed in the Features category at this year's digital Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June. The film opened in Japan on December 6. The film sold 220,000 tickets and earned 307,395,900 yen (about US$2.82 million) on its first three days to rank #2 in its opening weekend. The film has earned a cumulative total of 1 billion yen (about US$9.22 million) as of January 5. Takashi Yamazaki (Stand By Me Doraemon, Dragon Quest Your Story) directed and wrote the film. GKIDS describes the film: The iconic "gentleman thief" Lupin III returns in an action-packed, continent-spanning adventure, as Lupin III and his colorful underworld companions race to uncover the secrets of the mysterious Bresson Diary, before it falls into the hands of a dark cabal that will stop at nothing to resurrect the Third Reich. The gang undertakes trap-filled tombs, aerial escapades and daring prison escapes with the trademark wit and visual finesse that have made LUPIN THE 3RD one of the most storied animation franchises in the world, in a thrilling new caper that is sure to delight fans old and new. Lupin III creator Monkey Punch passed away in April 2019, but the film's website posted an October 2018 message in which he had expressed his excitement over imagining how this fresh take on his character would turn out. Lupin the Third: Part 5 is the most recent television anime in the franchise. The anime premiered in NTV's AnichU programming block in Japan in April 2018. Crunchyroll streamed the series in Japanese with English subtitles as it aired in Japan. TMS Entertainment USA offered the series' first 12 episodes for digital purchase in the U.S. on iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon Digital in November 2018.   3. Funimation announced on Tuesday that it will stream the Attack on Titan The Final Season anime with English subtitles and an English dub. The English-subtitled version will be available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Ireland on the same day it premieres in Japan. The series will also stream in Brazil and Mexico, and the SimulDub will premiere later. Yuichiro Hayashi (Dorohedoro, Garo the Animation, Kakegurui both seasons) is directing the anime at MAPPA. Hiroshi Seko (Ajin anime franchise, Vinland Saga, Mob Psycho 100 anime franchise) is returning to oversee the series scripts. Tomohiro Kishi (Dorohedoro, 91 Days) is designing the characters. Funimation licensed the film. The company will collaborate with Kodansha to debut the film in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland later this year. A special preview video after the final episode of the third season had announced in June 2019 that the final season would premiere this fall. However, the official website and above video do not list a specific premiere season, but list only that the show will air on NHK-General. The first television anime season premiered in April 2013, and the second season premiered in April 2017. The first part of the third season premiered in July 2018, and the second half premiered in Japan on the NHK General channel in April 2019. Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Hulu streamed the latest series as it aired in Japan. Attack on Titan manga creator Hajime Isayama previewed the rough layout draft for the final panel of the manga series on the MBS documentary program Jōnetsu Tairiku in November 2018, and has stated he aims to end the manga this year.

  5. The "Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club 2nd Live! Brand New Story" concert debuted a new promotional video on Saturday. The video confirmed that the Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Dōkōkai (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club) anime will premiere on October 3. The series will premiere on the Tokyo MX channel as well as on the Bandai Channel, Line Live, and YouTube Live streaming services on October 3 at 10:30 p.m. (9:30 a.m. EDT). It will also run on Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, BS11, TV Aichi, Shizuoka Asahi TV, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting Co., Ltd. The official website for Frontier Works' Project Scard franchise announced on Sunday that the franchise is getting a television anime adaptation that will premiere in January 2021 on MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS' "Animeism" programming block. The anime is titled Project Scard: Praeter no Kizu (Project Scard: Scar on the Praeter).   8. Anime Limited will release the seven Original Video Anime episodes of the Mobile Suit Gundam UC (Unicorn) in a Blu-ray collection on September 7. The set will contain a poster and a 20-page art booklet containing promotional art for the anime. On-disc extras include the “Story So Far”; Episode EX “One Hundred Years of Solitude”; Promotional Videos; Commercials; and "MS & Character Highlights." Mobile Suit Gundam UC adapts Harutoshi Fukui's original Mobile Suit Gundam UC novel series, which is mainly set in the year Universal Century 0096, 16 years after the events of the One Year War depicted in the first Mobile Suit Gundam anime, and three years after the Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack anime film. In a renewed conflict between the Earth Federation and Neo Zeon remnants, the Vist Foundation has a potentially devastating secret from the founding of the Federation a century before. Anime Limited summarised the series: "Universal Century 0096. Three years after the last conflict between Neo Zeon and the Earth Federation Forces – as seen in Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack – the tentative peace of the Earth Sphere is about to be shattered again. Cardeas Vist, the head of the powerful Vist Foundation, has decided to hand over “Laplace's Box”, the secret of the Foundation's prosperity, to the supposed enemy, Neo Zeon. "Banagher Links, a student at the space colony Industrial 7, rescues a mysterious girl who calls herself Audrey Burne. Audrey is seeking to prevent a war, but it seems she has come too late. As Banagher's home colony is devastated by the attacks of the enemy mobile suit Kshatriya, he finds his strange destiny and is forced to fight in the formidable weapon system known as the Unicorn Gundam." Sunrise released the video anime series of seven episodes theatrically in Japan and on home video between 2010-2014. The first six episodes were about an hour long each, while the seventh episode was feature-length, running an hour and a half. Manga Entertainment will release the TV series Cop Craft on Blu-ray and DVD. It is based on Shoji Gatoh's Cop Craft Dragnet Mirage Reloaded light novel series. The story is set in San Teresa City on the fictional Pacific island of Kariaena. The "buddy police action" series follows the detective Kei Matoba and the alternate-world knight Tirana. 15 years ago, an unknown hyperspace gate opened over the Pacific. Beyond this gate lies Reto Semaani, a strange alternate world where fairies and demons live. San Teresa City — a city where over two million immigrants live from both worlds. As a result, there are the haves and the have-nots. Here is the world's newest "city of dreams." But in the shadow of the chaos, crime is rampant: drugs, prostitution, and weapon trafficking. The detectives who stand up to these heinous crimes are in the San Teresa City Police. When the detective Kei Matoba and the alternate-world knight Tirana — two individuals who differ in gender, personality, and even world of origin — meet, an incident erupts. The anime stars Kenjiro Tsuda as Kei and Mayu Yoshioka as Tilarna Exedilika. Shin Itagaki (2016 Berserk, Teekyū) directed the anime at Millepensee, and Gatoh himself was in charge of the series scripts. Hiromi Kimura adapted Range Murata's original character designs for animation. Manga Entertainment will release the film Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Arrow of the Orion on Blu-ray and DVD. Sentai Filmworks previously described the film: Far from the dungeon beneath Oraria rises a new threat, one the beautiful goddess Artemis has sworn to destroy with the help of her chosen warrior. But this fighter isn't the renowned Ais Wallenstein or another storied hero of Orario legend. Instead the fate of Artemis' quest falls upon the shoulders of Bell Cranell, who must partner with the goddess and stand against the menace lurking in the remains of a distant, ancient city. Although Bell is the ordained champion of Artemis and a member of the goddess Hestia's familia, their adventure will test every skill and take every ounce of courage that Bell has — and perhaps, along the way, turn him into the hero he has always aspired to be. Katsushi Sakurabi (Flying Witch, Heaven's Memo Pad, Lostorage incited WIXOSS), an episode director on the television anime, directed the film at J.C. Staff instead of the television anime's series director Yoshiki Yamakawa. Fujino Ōmori, the author of the original light novel series, wrote the screenplay instead of the television anime's staff writers. Shigeki Kimoto once again adapted Suzuhito Yasuda's original character designs for animation. Keiji Inai composed the music as he did for the television anime. Manga Entertainment will also release One Piece Collection 23 on DVD, carrying episodes 541 to 563 of the series. The video announces and previews the opening theme song "Ikiru o Suru," and it also reveals that the anime will premiere on October 3 at 9:30 a.m. JST (October 2 at 8:30 p.m. EDT). He gets to become one when Hadlar is resurrected and the previous hero, Avan, comes to train Dai to help in the battle. But Hadlar, announcing that he now works for an even more powerful demon lord, comes to kill Avan. To save his students, Avan uses a Self-Sacrifice spell to attack, but is unable to defeat Hadlar. When it seems that Dai and Avan's other student Pop are doomed, a mark appears on Dai's forehead and he suddenly gains super powers and is able to fend off Hadlar. The two students then go off on a journey to avenge Avan and bring peace back to the world. Kazuya Karasawa (Dragon Ball Super episode director, Dragon Ball Super: Broly storyboards) is serving as series director at Toei Animation. Katsuhiko Chiba (Rune Soldier, Baby Steps, Tiger Mask W) is supervising the series' scripts. Emiko Miyamoto (Maho Girls Precure!) is designing the characters. Ayaka Fujii (Studio Pablo) is the art director. Yuki Hayashi is composing the music. Aya Mori is in charge of color design. Dragon Quest series director Yuji Horii is credited for supervising the original manga. The anime will premiere on TV Tokyo's network of affiliates (TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting Co., Ltd.) Toei Animation is producing the anime, which will be hybrid CG and 2D animation. The manga is also inspiring video game adaptations. The Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibōken Tamashii no Kizuna smartphone game will launch in 2021. Square Enix will release the Infinity Strash Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibōken (The Adventure of Dai) action role-playing game for consoles in 2021. The Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibōken Xross Blade ("Xross" is pronounced "cross") arcade card game is slated to debut in or after fall 2020. The 37-volume manga ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1989 to 1996. The manga previously inspired a 46-episode anime series that aired in 1991 and 1992, and three short anime films that opened in July 1991, March 1992, and July 1992.
